Long-term archive and data publication services

The WDCC includes intense data curation for storage periods longer than 10 years to ensure the ongoing retrievability and usability of the data and the accompanying metadata. Both data and metadata undergo meticulous technical quality checks and data publication service grants permanent accessibility by assigning unique persistent identifier DOI to data and metadata.

CERA_portal.pngEasily find and retrieve data via various search portals: CERA, GISCEUDAT, or ESGF. Specific information regarding CMIP6 long-term archive and publication is found here.

More about WCDD available data at Alternatives Access points outside ESGF.

IPCC Data Distribution Centre (IPCC-DDC)

The IS-ENES (ENES infrastructure project) partners BADC (within the Centre for Environmental Data Archival, CEDA) and DKRZ (within the WDCC) host part of the IPCC Data Distribution Centre (DDC) which provides climate, socio-economic and environmental data, both from the past and also in scenarios projected into the future. The DDC is designed primarily for climate change researchers, but materials contained on the site may also be of interest to educators, governmental and non-governmental organisations, and the general public. DCC includes a visualization service.

DDC visulization service

The Global Climate Model Experiment Data Archive is the main DDC entry point to retrieve data or information on the models used for the 4th and 5th IPCC Assessments Reports (subsets of the results from Coupled Model Intercomparison Project, Phase 3 and Phase 5, AR4 (CMIP3) and AR5 (CMIP5)).
