Call for applications: Knowledge gaps in the chain between climate models to climate services at EMS AM 2019

last modified Mar 26, 2019 12:01 PM
A session organised in the frame of Climateurope at the 2019 Annual Meeting of the European Meteorological Society.

OSA3.6

This session, organized in the frame of the European Support and Coordination action Climateurope aims at analysing the transfer of the information produced in climate modelling to climate services.
We welcome contributions identifying present and future challenges and results from projects and initiatives aiming at filling the knowledge gaps, tackling barriers, but also offering views, prospective and steps for future research and action. The relevance of considering user requirements all along the process in optimising the information transfer will also be analysed.
Moreover we would like to investigate the positioning of the climate impact sciences along the value chain: where they see themselves, whether they could be better served by climate modelling and what return of information or added value they could offer downstream to services.
Although this session addresses in first place scientific content/approaches, contributions presenting innovative technical solutions which clearly translate into an optimization of the information transfer along the model/services line will also be considered.
