last modified Feb 10, 2017 03:22 PM
Barcelona Supercomputing Centre announces two talks: “Forecast quality assessment: making skill and bias information meaningful to the users” and “Model drift analysis to understand the causes of systematic errors in climate prediction systems”.

** Tuesday 21st February 2017, 10:30-11:45 am, Europe/Madrid time zone **

The webinar will consist in two talks given by experts external to Climateurope:

  • Antje Weisheimer (NCAS, UK):  “Forecast quality assessment: making skill and bias information meaningful to the users”

  • Emilia Sánchez (CERFACS, France): “Model drift analysis to understand the causes of systematic errors in climate prediction systems”

The talks will last 15 minutes and will be followed by a brief round of questions from the audience. The last part of the webinar will be  devoted to a moderated discussion to address the following two questions relevant to Climateurope:

  • Which challenges for climate modelling and observations are raised by climate services?
  • What are the barriers that prevent a faster development of a climate services market?
