EUDAT and EPOS set up a collaboration to provide safe back-up and service redundancy to the Italian seismologists community (INGV). The challenge to copy and synchronize, daily, the whole archive of the community from its data centre in Rome to the EUDAT node in Bologna (CINECA) has been overcome through the EUDAT Safe Replication service, which has been carefully tuned to the specific community requirements. The seismologists' data sets archived and registered in the EUDAT CDI will be the base for the community services to be hosted by EUDAT.

More information about data infrastructure & service success stories will be provided at the EUDAT 2nd Conference. Keynote presentations from the Human Brain flagship project by Richard Frackowiak, Ewan Birney on Annotating the Human Genome, Helix-Nebula the Science Cloud by Maryline Lengert and a view from across the Atlantic from Bill Michener on DataONE will be complimented by a series of parallel tracks and training sessions on the EUDAT services, associated workshops on topics that include humanities and social sciences, novel big data technologies and ultra-scalable data management technologies, policies for the management of research data.
